Sequencing: 'The Lesson’ monogram
Sisley memorised the positioning of features along the oblique angle of 'The Footbridge’ ©1867.
In later works, returning to these is a 'Sequencing Motif’.
Black and White hues of the slow-flowing river in 'The Footbridge’ painting are matched above Jeanne’s head. The monograms are similarly positioned near the stone-pier and mantel clock.
